Division of Sports Medicine
1. Objective:
The Division of Sports Medicine aims to serve the public to prevent and treat sports-induced injuries in an effort to curb the development of degenerative arthritis or osteoarthritis.
2. Focus:
A: Therapy of sports-induced knee joint injury: cartilage, meniscal, ligament, and tendon repair/reconstruction.
B: Therapy of degenerative arthritis: medication, serum hyaluronan therapy, osteotom and joint replacement surgery.
3. Features:
The medical service of the division is characterized by its application of arthroscopy to the reconstruction of cruciate ligament and meniscal surgery, its introduction of the kinematic computer navigation system for orthopedics, the first of its kind in Taiwan, and its adoption of minimally invasive joint surgery to facilitate speedy rehabilitation.
