Spinal Surgery
The Division of Spinal Surgery serves to treat a variety of ailments ranging from deformity (scoliosis, hunchback, and congenital disorder) spinal degeneration, fractures, to cancer. It has administered more than 6,000 surgical cases over the past 16 years and is well reputed domestically and internationally for its surgical achievement. Recently the division has developed many kinds of mini and endoscope spinal surgery. Thus, many fellow doctors from abroad, including Vietnam, Malaysia, India and Japan have visited the university hospital for a short-term stay to learn the skills of spinal surgery from the department. Meanwhile, in cooperation with other academic institutes, the department has made a breakthrough in the development of intensifying biomechanical materials for the treatment of osteoporosis.
